2026 Annual Meeting Layouts


A number of local PRRT&HS members have graciously invited us to view their personal layouts. Here, we present them to you with descriptions and some pictures. We hope that you will take the opportunity to get to see them in person.


In deference to our members' privacy, we are not providing addresses here, but they will be available at the registration desk at the meeting.


Ken Kime - Western Maryland Dutch Line
Era: 1960’s-1970’s
Scale: O 2-rail
Location: Gettysburg, PA

Dates/Times: Friday 7-10PM
Description: Ken models the Western Maryland’s Dutch Line (Hanover Subdivision) from Gettysburg to Jack’s Mountain. This includes the town of Gettysburg, where the WM interchanges with the Reading as well as modeling the industries and towns west towards Jack’s Mountain tunnel. Although primarily modeling Western Maryland, the railroad will have PRR motive power and plenty of larger O Scale 2-rail action.


Rich Randall - Milwaukee Road

Distance from Hotel: 8 Miles, 14 Minutes
Dates/Times: Friday 7-11PM, Sunday 10AM-3PM
Description: Rich models the Milwaukee Road from Deer Lodge, Montana to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho which includes a portion of their electrified mainline and the engine facilities at Avery, Idaho. This multi-deck design fills the space with lots of scenic highlights throughout.





Tim Rasinski - Blackfork Railroad
Era: Late 1940’s
Scale: O 2-rail
Location: Gettysburg, PA

Distance from Hotel: 11 Miles, 15 Minutes
Dates/Times: Friday 7-11PM, Sunday 10AM-3PM
Description: Tim models a railroad through the wilds of West Virginia with the mix of local views and industries one would expect. The mix of detailed scenery with the size of O Scale make this a not-to-miss railroad.


Steve King - Virginia Midland Railroad

Era: 1969
Scale: N Scale
Location: Fayetteville, PA

Distance from Hotel: 27 Miles, 40 Minutes
Dates/Times: Friday 6-9:30PM, Sunday 12-5PM
Description: Steve King is one of the Allegheny Lines partners with the Allegheny Midland and Virginian & Ohio. The Virginia Midland mainline runs from Pittsburgh, PA to Charlotte, NC with secondary lines to Hazard, KY and Roanoke, VA. This is the 5th version Steve has modeled of the railroad, this version models the 65 miles between Welch, WV and Marion, VA.





Dave Moltrup - Beaver Falls & Shenango Railroad

Scale: HO Scale
Location: Smithsburg, MD

Distance from Hotel: 24 Miles, 33Minutes

Description: Dave models a freelanced steel mill.


Bob Johnson - West Virginia Midland Railroad

Era: 1954
Scale: HO Scale
Location: Jefferson, MD
Direction from Hotel: South
Distance from Hotel: 37 Miles, 40 Minutes
Dates/Times: Friday 6-9PM, Sunday 12AM-5PM
Description: Bob models a freelance short line between Holly Junction, WV and Laurel bank, WV. The trackage and structures are designed to create the feeling of a rural “back woods” railroad. A mix of industries appropriate to the region are modeled.





Larry Thompson - Western Maryland Railway
Era: 1940’s-1950’s

Location: Hanover, PA

Dates/Times: Friday 6-9PM, Sunday 10AM-5PM
Description: Larry models a freelanced version of the Western Maryland on a Multi-deck model railroad.


John Frantz - Tuckahoe Valley Railroad, South Mountain Division

Era: 1970’s-1980’s
Scale: HO Scale
Location: York, PA
Direction from Hotel: East
Distance from Hotel: 41 Miles, 1 Hour-5 Minutes
Dates/Times: Sunday 12-5PM
Description: John models a 30 mile portion of the South Mountain Division of the Tuckahoe Valley railroad, a bridge route running from Conrail at Port Royal through central Pennsylvania to the Western Maryland (Chessie) at Hancock, MD and beyond with a connection to the Virginian & Ohio. There is also a working interchange with the Central Penn Railroad which also has its own operation with two towns along a branch line route. The multi-deck operations-oriented model railroad was started in February 2024, with the top deck recently being completed. The top deck trackwork is 95% complete and all installed trackwork is electrically operational as well.





Miniature Railroad Club of York - York Connecting Railroad

Location: York, PA

Dates/Times: Sunday 1-5PM
Description: The Miniature Railroad Club was founded in 1943 and has been in its current location since 1955. The club owns its own 30’x90’ building with a model railroad depicting scenes from the mid-atlantic region from Appalachian Coal mine to Tidewater Port.
