Some Guidance for Shopping the PRRT&HS Store

If you are a member of the society and want to buy at Member Prices, you must log into this web site first.

If you have never logged into your account, you can click on the "Members Not Logged In" selection under the PRR T&HS main menu heading to start the initial log-In process

Are you a First Time Shopper?

We have very little control on how the store appears to shoppers, and no control how orders are completed, so below is some guidance on how to use the store.

Navigating the Store:

> The store's Home page includes recently introduced products and products that may be related to that new product, or are on sale.

> Our products fall into several categories. To see all products in a category, click on the categories button above the products listed to see a list of categories, and then click on the category of interest.

> Items being sold at a reduced price for a limited time can be viewed by clicking on "Specials" above the listed products

> Unfortunately there is a bug in our web host's store software - if you want to delete an item from your cart, you can access your cart by clicking on the cart icon along the right edge of the window. But we have discovered that on a few devices the cart icon is missing. If you do not see the cart icon, you can start the checkout process, then click the "Cancel Checkout" button, and you will then be able to view your shopping cart and edit it.

Shipping times:

> We are a small, volunteer organization. Depending on timing, it may take as long as two weeks for your order to be shipped.

> When a new book first comes out, that can extend to as long as four weeks depending on how popular the book is. Orders are shipped in the order payment is received.

Completing an order:

> You can optionally ship to a different address, and add a gift message to the packing list that will accompany your order.

> In addition to collecting postage, we also collect $5 for shipping and handling on each order that helps to pay the company that actually picks, packs, and ships your order.

> During the checkout process you will be presented with an order summary page where you can make changes. When you click on "Continue to Payment" you are committing to placing the order with the items, quantities and shipment address just displayed, even though you have not yet entered the payment method.

Payment:

> If you want to pay by Credit card, you must pay on-line. Due to the cost of credit card data security compliance requirements we are no longer accepting credit cards over the phone or on mail order forms.

> Our apologies, but we do not accept Paypal - paypal's payment reporting system requires a lot of manual effort by our volunteers to properly account for the payment in our financial system, and we lack the volunteer effort to make those manual entries. Credit card and check payments are much easier for us to process and record.

> You can place an on-line order and opt to pay by check, in which case the store can provide an invoice you can print and include with your check.

After you place your order:

If you entered your e-mail while completing your order, you will receive an e-mail from PRRT&HS confirming the order details. You will receive a second e-mail when your payment is processed (credit card will be quick, or later when we deposit you check.)

You will also receive a shipment confirmation e-mail from "tracking@shipstation.com" when your order is shipped, and that e-mail should include a tracking number for your shipment. You may also receive an e-mail when your shipment has been delivered.
